#1 Hello I recently changed the transmision fluid in my 04 sportsman 500. I was almost positive it was gear oil so I used Amsoil severe gear 75w-90. I now know that the Polaris oil wasn't that thick. It has been opperating just fine but was wondering if I should change it our would it just be fine. I know this has been covered in the past, but I have not found conclusive answers for what the best, or acceptable, alternative transmission and front differential oils that can be used for 1998 Sportsman 500. I am using synthetic Chevron Delo 5w-40 in the engine, atf type F in the hubs and currently have dexron III in the transmission.
