I've setup a few (15 or so) Tier 7 Slime Minions with Enchanted Lava Buckets, Enchanted Hoppers, Corrupt Soil and Minion Expanders (I'm too broke to afford Flycatchers/don't have the slayer requirement). Is it worth upgrading to Tier 9/Tier 11 or would it take a ridiculous amount of time to pay off?

This is not true corrupt soil makes slime minions good. Without the enchanted hopper, the corrupted fragment only stacks to 64 and clogs up the minion. Don't use compactors or diamond spreading Because they make less than corrupt soil and minion expander.
